ground floor sheeted up
The gound floor has been framed and sheeted.

space for the cellar
This is where our cellar and safety spot will go. The walls will be block.

view through the front door
While the door isn't there yet‚ this is where it will go.

some internal framing
From this angle you can see some of the internal wall framing‚ including for the stairs. The hole for the stairs hasn't been cut so as to avoid someone (i.e. Allan) falling down.

Snow collecting on the logs near the shed.
A view of the logs near the shed as the snow collected on them.

Snow over the apple yard
As the apples were only recently planted‚ they haven't budded yet so won't be worried by the snow.

House Frame
Without the roof‚ there is snow in the house.

Snow on the fence
Not very often will you see snow gathering on the fence posts.

Putting in the pipes
The pipes for the heating are 'plastic' in rubber lagging. All European design for maximum heat output.

Spring must be near
The daffodil bulbs we planted in May are now beginning to bloom around the block - it must soon be spring!

And this is spring?
The first days of spring bring cold weather‚ rain and even a little snow. Photo is taken through the bedroom door.

Downstairs blockwork complete
The blocks downstair have been laid. Beautifully finished. These will be rendered later. All of the doors and windows are double glazed.

Kitchen Area
This is where the kitchen will go in the open plan living space. Note that the pink bats were installed properly and not government subsidised.

Looking along the front deck
All of the doors and windows have been installed to keep out the cold wind. They even make a difference at this stage although there are plenty of spaces.

Cheeries
The first shoots on the cherry trees have appeared this week.

Huon Crabbapple shoots
The Huon Crabbapple was one of the first apples to shoot. Now all of them seem to be making the effort.

Quince & Pear
The quince is well underwaym but still in a pot until we can find the right place next winter. The pear is in the pot behind and has its first shoot coming through.
